Winnie Odinga to Contest Nairobi Senate Seat

Winnie Odinga, MP of the East African Legislative Assembly, has announced her intention to run for the Nairobi Senate seat in the 2027 General Elections.

She made the declaration during the first anniversary memorial service of her late father, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in Siaya County.

Winnie Odinga's announcement comes amidst speculation that incumbent Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna may be seeking a higher office, potentially creating an opening for her to enter the race.

She also urged young people to participate in leadership and electoral politics, encouraging them to compete for elective positions.
