Ruto to Meet Putin at Russia-Africa Summit

President William Ruto is set to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Russia-Africa Summit in Moscow.

The meeting comes as Kenya seeks the return of its citizens who were allegedly lured to Russia with job promises and forced into combat in Ukraine. Kenya believes over 1,000 of its citizens may be affected.

Ruto is expected to press for the immediate repatriation of Kenyans who do not wish to fight and the return of the remains of those who have died in combat.

The summit will also provide an opportunity for Kenya to negotiate deals on fertiliser and other agricultural inputs to lower production costs and ease the cost of living.
